“Mrs. Lana,” as she is affectionately known by generations of students, began a small Bible study for local high school students in the living room of her family’s home in tiny Bells, Texas, in 2017. What began with just 12 students quickly grew to more than 70, and today Home Run Ranch regularly welcomes more than 150 students each week.
As the number of students grew, so did the vision.
Today, Home Run Ranch is a thriving student ministry serving hundreds of young people from more than 20 area high schools. At the heart of everything is the weekly Bible study, where students come together to worship, hear God’s Word, grow in their faith, and build lasting friendships.
But Home Run Ranch is also a place where students can simply have fun and be kids. The property features a lighted turf Wiffle Ball field modeled after Fenway Park, a lighted basketball and pickleball court, ping pong, billiards, fishing, outdoor patios, picnic areas, and a fire pit.
The newest addition, The Dugout, provides a large indoor gathering space with seating for more than 100 people, along with a kitchen and concession stand and two restrooms. The facility is also available for parties, team events, and corporate gatherings, with proceeds reinvested directly into the ministry and its mission.
From a dozen students gathered in a living room to hundreds of young people walking through the gates each year, the heart of Home Run Ranch has never changed.
Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, welcoming place where high school students can grow in their relationship with Jesus, build meaningful friendships, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.
Lana is a former public-school teacher, and Stephen is a financial advisor who helps families develop personal financial game plans and specializes in retirement plans for businesses. Together, they share a deep commitment to faith, family, and community. The Newtons have one son, Eli — affectionately known as “Newty” (18) — along with a lively crew of pets that includes three cats, three dogs, two goats, and two turtles.
They are also passionate baseball fans, cheering faithfully for their three favorite teams: the Atlanta Braves, the Houston Astros, and the Boston Red Sox.

We meet nearly every Sunday night at 7:00 PM, and our doors are open to all high school students. We’re blessed to have students from many different schools—public, private, and home-school alike. Incoming freshmen may begin attending on the first Sunday evening after their 8th-grade year concludes.
(Our schedule is pinned on our Instagram page.)

Many different groups have made lifetime memories here at this unique venue. To help support the growing costs of the ministry, we allow outside groups to use the Wiffle Ball field and building for events when a supporting donation is made. Please email us for donation level amounts and availability.

Your support and contributions will enable us to reach more students and improve facilities.
Your generous tax deductible donation will help fund our mission.
